about

Rise up is the first Ska tune The F.P.D.A. have released since March 2007, when what should really be our theme song 'Florence Park' came out. We like to think that we've added more of our own flavour to that classic Ska sound this time round though.

The song features our great friend and wonderful singer Rozz, who is on vocal duties for her second outing with The F.P.D.A. since our 9 year hiatus from the studio.

There will be a video on Youtube some time in the future but it's yet to be filmed, so no release date has been set...

The video will get done soon and we have several ideas brewing considering the current isolated circumstances we are living in and the fact that we're not meant to even meet up as a band. Whatever we do though, the intention will be to cheer people up with our own blend of Ska as much as possible.

lyrics

Lyrics:-

Looking on your senses, your blesses
your curses & your resting times
Where no one else's judgement can move
in without an invitation to
take all the power from you
you need to step inside of yourself
You seem emotionless
but I can only guess
that you have lost yourself
within the realms of confusion
I'm only looking on
but I can see beyond
and all you need to do is Rise up

Rise Up
unlock your senses
and let that rhythm just a go-awo
Rise Up
Owaho
and let that rhyme just a flow
Rise Up
unlock your senses
and let that rhythm just a go-awo
Rise Up
Owaho
and let that rhyme just a flow
Rise Up
Wahowoo

It's not about repenting, or denting
the safe style that's protected you
It's just a tiny adjustment to
make a way to intimate
learn to reciprocate
in amongst the labrynthine
and wasted time of protection
where doubting interludes
conspire to baffle you
in a tiny slight of hand
that scatters bands of distraction
around your very being
and stops your soul from seeing
that all it needs to do is Rise up
